We first headed west where we visited the small hidden town of Masca in the center of the Teno area. Here we have time to take some photos, and for a break next to the local church with a beautiful and huge ficus tree that is a few hundred years old
.We continue to the next town of Los Carrizales where we have the opportunity to take a short walk. In addition, we drive along the winding road over the mountain and arrive at the north side of the island where local agriculture clearly dominates
.The next stop is the town of Garachico, which was completely rebuilt after the town was completely destroyed by the lava flow from the black volcano in 1706. Here we have time to stop by the old castle of San Miguel, the church of Santa Ana and the park where we can see an old wine press.
We will visit Icod de Los Vinos, land of the Millennial Dragon, being the oldest in the Canary Islands.
Then we drive to the beautiful Chirche viewpoint for a short break and to take some photos.
This is how we continue to a 500 year old lava flow from the “Boca Cangrejo” volcano, with a view of the neighboring island of La Gomera.
Then we continue and a little further in the Teide National Park, we arrive at a place where we have the opportunity to take a short walk to the crater of the Samara volcano.
We also passed the old Teide peak “the Old Peak” with its huge lava field of more than 5 km², and it was quite recent a little over 200 years ago.
Then we arrived at the most beautiful place in the park near the famous rocks of the Garcia family, and here we have time to take some nice photos. On the other side of the rocks in the Parador del Teide there is also a cafeteria and a nice souvenir shop
.On the way back south, we'll stop at a beautiful viewpoint of several volcanoes and the huge pine forest. In the town of Vilaflor you will find the oldest and largest pine tree “El Pino Gordo” for our last
photo stop.Important Information
